Dr. J.P. Giroud
Past president of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS). He is a pioneer of the geosynthetics discipline with more than 41 years of continuous experience with the design and construction of geosynthetics applications. He coined the terms “geotextile” and “geomembrane” in 1977, he has authored over 390 publications, and he has developed many of the design methods used in geosynthetics engineering.

Dr. Jorge Zornberg
President of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS). Associate Professor and holder of the Fluor Centennial Teaching Fellowship in Engineering at the U. of Texas at Austin. He has over 20 years experience both in research and practice in geosynthetics, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. He has authored over 270 technical publications in these topics.

Dr. Nathalie Touze-Foltz
Member of the council of the French Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) and of the IGS council. Researcher in Cemagref Antony, a public research institute in France. She has been conducting research on geosynthetics for the past 17 years, with particular emphasis on environmental applications. She has authored/ co-authored 80 papers.

Vice-president of the Spanish Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS). Head of the Materials Department of the Central Laboratory of Structures and Materials of the CEDEX, Ministry of Fomento. He has more than 40 years experience both in research and practice in geosynthetics discipline, especially in hydraulic works. He has authored over 200 publications both nationally and internationally about geosynthetics.
